lemurs are my favorite animal EVER about lemurs: lemurs are native to madagascar, and some are nocturnal but some are active during the day as well. they have tails longer than their bodies and have opposing thumbs like humans! in this society the females are dominant over the males, higher ranked lemurs "strut" with their tails and heads held high, while lower ranked lemurs walk with their tails and heads down. after a lemur has a baby the momma carries it around in its mouth, they can also live to be 18 yrs old. they live in trees and move around by jumping from branch to branch. lemurs mostly eat fruit, nuts, and berries. they can also vary in size from one ounce to fifteen pounds because there is 50 different species. they are very closely related to humans and monkeys. however, these cute, furry little animals are endangered because humans are cutting down their habitat.
