Jackie Kennedy is known for being a style icon, changing the interior of the White House and being the ideal First Lady. In my opinion, however, she is one of the most influential women America has ever encountered. She was politically active in her role as the First Lady, although she didn't necessarily enjoy her time in the White House, she accomplished numerous things that left a lasting impression on Americans. She showed her remarkable emotional strength when dealing with the assassination of her husband and her ability to keep console her children. She consistently showed this throughout her life when she dealt with the death of her son, her miscarriages, stillborn baby, and when she was greiving the death of her second husband.
Jackie is an amazing woman that effected our history and is someone who everyone should take time to study. Some books that are written about her are Just Jackie: Her Private Years by Edward Klien, America's Queen: The Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis by Sarah Bradford, Jackie: A Legend Defined by Claire G. Osborne, and many more.
