About the Show
Pretty Little Liars is an ABC Family television series. It is one of my favorite TV shows currently on television. The show is based on the popular series of novels written by Sara Shepard. It follows the lives of Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), four girls whose friendship falls apart after the disappearance of their friend Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). A year after her disappearance, they begin receiving messages from someone using the name "A". A threatens to expose the girls' secrets. Secrets they thought only their friend Alison knew.
Aria Montgomery:
In the beginning of the series, Aria moves back to Rosewood with her family after a long vacation in Europe. Aria starts to like a man she met upon returning home, and soon finds that he is her new English teacher, Ezra Fitz. She gets a message from "A" threatening to tell people about her relationship with Ezra and the secret she has been keeping from her mother; her dad's affair.
Spencer Hastings:
Spencer comes from a very rich family. She is very smart and competitive, and involved with many extracurricular activities. Spencer lives with her family and older sister, Melissa, who she is very jealous of. Spencer's sister moves into the family's guest house at the beginning of the show with her new fiancé, Wren. Spencer starts to like Wren, and gets a threatening message from "A", saying "If you kiss, I tell."
Hanna Marin:
After Alison disappeared, Hanna transformed herself into Rosewood High School's new "Queen Bee", along with her new best friend Mona, a former loser that Hanna and her friends made fun of. Hanna also receives messages from "A", letting on that "A" knew about Hannah's bulimia and shoplifting problems.
Emily Fields:
Emily is a competitive swimmer from a very conservative family. Emily lived next-door to Alison, and was closer friends with her than any of the other three girls. As the show begins, a new family moves into Alison's old house. Emily meets the family and starts to develop a crush on her new neighbor. Soon after, she gets a message in her locker from "A" revealing that someone knows about Emily's crush.
Alison DiLaurentis:
Ali DiLaurentis is the main character in Pretty Little Liars. She was the leader of her clique, consisting of Hanna, Aria, Spencer and Emily, until she mysteriously disappeared.
Hanna Marin:
